At St Mary-in-the-Fields Church, Culloden
Sunday 14th June at 11.00am
(With refreshments to follow)
We do hope you will be able to join us to share in this quiet time of reflection, along with others who are also grateful for the life and memory of those special ones who, for a while, we no longer see. This is for any who have suffered bereavement, not just in the past year or so.
This is a new event, one which we hope might become an annual Service at St Mary’s. Remembering our loved ones no longer with us has been a practise shared by many cultures for centuries in many different ways. The Christian Church has contributed to this remembrance, on the basis of biblical truth, rather than wishful thinking. It is right to remember our loved ones, treasuring the memories we have, whilst letting them go.
You will be offered the opportunity of hearing the names of those special to you read out in the Service and to see small candles lit as a symbol of our love and thanksgiving for them.
Later perhaps at home as you pray and give thanks for the many blessings you have received, the memory of your loved ones will come gently through, assuring you of their love within and around you always.
To help us prepare for the Service, it would be helpful to receive the full name(s) of your loved ones beforehand. Please can you write them clearly on a piece of paper and hand them in as you enter (or any time before the Sunday).
If you wish, you could email them to:
